GHOST LIGHT
I've spent some evenings here, just looking out. It's quite relaxing when there's nobody here. Had a fox come quite close one day, that was quite nice.
This thing really does smell, doesn't it? I think I sensed a flower of some kind… The windflower keeps reproducing. It likes this polluted world.
I have a very sensitive nose. Can you smell the sea? I can't, not here… That river used to smell like the sea, but not anymore. These days you have to go pretty far until you start smelling it.
Usually all cities like this, cities with rivers, have their own, fantastic sound. I mean, it’s like, I’ve thought about it since, it’s partly because of the, the water being in constant motion. I mean it gives you, like a feeling, that something’s happening here, even though nothing ever does. Right now, right now the water actually isn’t moving. People are.
These roots have left strange things, strange shapes that have been growing over and... created sort of shapes of their own. It’s like the illumination’s always there, and it’s weird because it moves with you, the light, it’s not just fixed there, so it’s always like our perspective.
Are you so picky that you want the original nature?
It's like any other complicated thing. I mean, it doesn’t just go like: "now I jump into the middle of nature and calm down". It’s not so straightforward.
